ASK012 RCC Dev Environments

The Royal Canoe Club website is managed as a production environment with 2 development environments.

Change Path to Production

There are 3 environments used to managed changes to production:

• Production Environment: No updates are made to production directly.
• Staging Environment: Small changes for pages and posts are made here before backing up and deploying to production. This also provide a test environment for major site changes
• Dev Environment: The markshury-smith site is used for major change. The environment is first refreshed from production befor making major changes such as site restructuring.

WordPress Site Migration: Updraft Plus

The WordPress plugin: UpdraftPlus is used to enable the sites to be backed up and migrated automatically. This deals with the migration of all data and the changing of references to the target site from the source site.
